Batting

There is good depth in the batting this year and there will be plenty of competition for places.  For that reason we are going to run two NH U16 Winter Academy batting groups with 12 boys in each group.  The following 29 boys have been invited to attend.  Should we have more than 24 boys make themselves available, we will select a final 24.

Mark O'Donnell (Batting Group 1).  Former Auckland Aces Coach, New Zealand Assistant Coach and Royal Bangalore batting coach.  Confirmed for July, August onwards tba.

Paul Strang (Batting Group 2).  Played test cricket for Zimbabwe, a former Auckland Aces Coach.

Neil Fletcher.  Neil knows many of the boys and has a wide set of skills.   The intention is that he will be involved each week in either one of the Batting, Spin / wicket-keeping, or fast bowling groups as required.


Fast bowling

A final group of twelve will be selected.

All of the following boys will be involved.  I expect that at least a couple of boys will not make each session thereby keeping numbers manageable.  It will also ensure the fast bowling group boys are not over-working.

Cost:  The cost is $215 per boy for each group or if you are involved in two groups the cost of the second group is $175. The cost is strictly cost recovery for nets and Coaches.  You will be provided with an Academy t-shirt and ball.

The majority of the boys who are not involved in Winter Academies will be involved in the Spring Training Sessions.

Cost:  The tournament cost (for those selected) will be $130 per boy of which the main cost is Coaches for the build-up games and the tournament.
